Highlights

  • Your current location is never seen by other players.
  • The e-mail address that you provide is only used to reset your password and will not be used for any other reason nor will it be disclosed to any third party.

Plain English

CodeRunner is a location-based game in which players can explore their local area and create in-game content for other players to experience. As such, we do need to collect and monitor certain personally-identifiable data from time to time and share such data with other players. You have control over which data may be shared with other players and you may choose to play the game completely anonymously.

CodeRunner uses your current GPS location to find nearby locations that are used to seed in-game missions. The location searches are logged for diagnostic purposes and the current device coordinates are retained as part of this search. These logs are stored securely and are only visible to RocketChicken administrators. This information will never be shared in any way with external sources for any reason.

The only data that other players will see are your player handle and any “Dead Drops” that you create while playing the game. If you choose to play anonymously, your Dead Drops will never be stored on the server or shared with other players in any way.

What Does This Privacy Policy Cover?

This Privacy Policy covers RocketChicken’s treatment of personally identifiable information (“Personal Information”) that RocketChicken gathers when you are accessing RocketChicken’s Service. This policy does not apply to the practices of companies that RocketChicken does not own or control, or to individuals that RocketChicken does not employ or manage. In addition, the Service contains links to outside sources, both ones we have added ourselves and ones that members have submitted. While we attempt to provide links only to those sites that share our respect for your privacy, we cannot take responsibility for the content or privacy policies of those sites. We encourage you to carefully review the privacy policies of any web sites you visit.

Information Collection and Use:

Our primary goals in collecting and using information are to provide and improve the Service, to administer and assist you in administering your Account on the Service, and to provide you with a better experience with the Service. We store and process information in the United States.

Personal Information and Non-Personal Information

RocketChicken may collect personal and non-personal information from you when you use the Service. Personal Information is information that specifically identifies an individual, including, but not limited to, an individual’s name, phone number, credit card or other billing information, email address and home address. Non-personal information is information that is not, on its own, personal information, such as an individual’s GPS location, but that may be considered part of an individual’s personal information if combined with other identifiers in a way that enables identification of an individual. Personal information does not include aggregate information, which is data we may collect about the characteristics and activities of users of the Service, from which any personal information has been removed. This Privacy Policy in no way limits or restricts our collection of aggregate information or of other non-personal information.

We may collect your personal information, including your email address, in connection with your creation of an Account. You can register for an Account via a RocketChicken application. Certain components of your Personal Information, such as your username and other information, may always be publicly visible by other users on the Service, including when such users view your Account profile page. Your email address will not be publicly visible to other users on the Service. We encourage you to consider carefully what information to share as part of your Account profile and elsewhere in the Service, and we recommend that you guard your anonymity and sensitive information and not use your real name as your username, as that may allow other users of the Service to identify you. Any information you choose to share should reflect how much you want other users of the Service to know about you. You can review and revise your Account profile information at any time.

We may also request and collect Personal Information when you administer or personalize your Account after registration or otherwise interact with the Service. For example, we may collect Personal Information both when you enter promotions on or in connection with the Service as well as in connection with your transactions (such as, but not limited to, donations or the purchase of products) through the Service or with RocketChicken’s advertisers. Such transaction-related information may include payment information, such as information regarding your account with an online payment service provider, and information about your use of products and services offered by our advertisers.

When you play any of our applications, we may collect information regarding your device type, operating system and version, carrier provider, IP address, the game version, and your current GPS location in order to provide a customized experience.

We use your personal information (in some cases, in conjunction with non-personal information) mainly to provide the Service. We may combine your personal information with non-personal information and aggregate it with information collected from other users of the Service to attempt to provide you with a better experience, to improve the quality and value of the Service and to analyze and evaluate how the Service is used. We may also use the combined information without aggregating it to serve you specifically, for instance, by delivering products to you according to your preferences or restrictions.

We may share aggregate information with third parties with whom we have a strategic relationship. The information shared with these third parties may be used for industry analysis and demographic profiling.

We may employ third party companies and individuals to facilitate the Service, to provide the Service on our behalf, or to assist us in analyzing how the Service is used. These third parties have access to Personal Information only to perform these tasks on our behalf and may not use Personal Information for any other purpose.

We will disclose any information about you to government or law enforcement officials or private parties as we, in our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate to respond to claims and legal process (including but not limited to subpoenas), to protect the property and rights of RocketChicken or any third party, to protect the safety of the public or any person, or to prevent or stop activity we may consider to be, or to pose a risk of being, illegal, unethical or legally actionable.

Cookies

RocketChicken cookies do not collect Personal Information, and we do not combine the general information collected through cookies with other Personal Information to tell us who you are or what your screen name or email address is.
  • Most browsers have an option for turning off the cookie feature, which will prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, as well as (depending on the sophistication of your browser software) allowing you to decide on acceptance of each new cookie in a variety of ways. Is Personal Information About Me Secure?

Your RocketChicken account Personal Information is protected by a password for your privacy and security. What Personal Information Can I Access?

RocketChicken allows you to access the following information about you for the purpose of viewing, and in certain situations, updating that information. This list will change as our Service changes.

  • Username and password
  • User profile information

Deleting Your Account

Should you ever decide to delete your RocketChicken account, you may do so by contacting your local site administrator. If you terminate your account, your profile, including any messages, comments, and forum posts by you or to you will be removed from the Service and deleted from RocketChicken’s servers. Because of the way we maintain RocketChicken, such deletion may not be immediate, and residual copies of your profile information or posts may remain on backup media.

  • You are able to add or update certain information on pages, such as those listed in the “What Personal Information Can I Access” section above. When you update information, however, we may maintain a copy of the unrevised information in our records.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

RocketChicken may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time. Use of information we collect now is subject to the Privacy Policy in effect at the time such information is used. If we make changes in the way we use Personal Information, we will notify you by posting an announcement on our Service or sending you an email.
