CodeRunner is a an immersive, real-world, outdoor game where you are a spy on missions to real locations. You are an undercover agent in the Department of Privacy, an Orwellian government agency with orders to control the world’s data. CodeRunner uses real GPS locations in your area as mission targets that you need to visit as you play through the story.
How does CodeRunner find locations?
CodeRunner uses a combination of Google searches and our own database to find locations that are used for your missions. You can help improve the game map by tagging locations of your own!
You mean my locations are used by other people?
That’s right! Every time you “tag” a location and submit it to our database, you are expanding the game map. Your locations will be used by other players in your area. Watch your location stats to see how many people have visited or liked your work! Get creative with your passwords and locations.
Where does CodeRunner work?
CodeRunner works everywhere in the world, in every country. For the best gaming experience play CodeRunner in town, a village, outdoor mall or near a business area. If you play in the middle of a suburb or a farmyard you will not get the full CodeRunner experience. (Also chickens are often double agents.)
Do other players need to be in my area?
The great thing about CodeRunner is that you can be the very first player in your area and still get the full excitement and complete adventure.
Do I need to spy on real people?
No! The story includes a number of nefarious characters you must investigate as you uncover a sinister conspiracy. You will never be told to spy on another player and other players will not be told to spy on you.
What about Android?
We love Android and will begin work on an Android version as soon as we reach our milestones with the iPhone. As a small startup we can only develop for one platform at a time. Join the Android Notification list and we’ll tell you when it’s available!
